What sound does forgiveness make?

Love is the will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth... Love is an act of will--namely both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love. - M. Scott Peck

Tough part of walking down the street

And what most people don't see... is just how hard it is to do the right thing. People think if I make a judgment call... that's a judgment on them, but that is not what I do. And that's not what should be done. I have to take everything... and play it as it lays. Sometimes people need a little help. Sometimes people need to be forgiven. And sometimes they need to go to jail. And that is a very tricky thing on my part... making that call. I mean, the law is the law. And heck if I'm gonna break it. You can forgive someone. Well, that's the tough part. What can we forgive? Tough part of the job. Tough part of walking down the street. – Jim Kurring, Magnolia

It's not your fault

The path of integration does not flee anxiety but endures it, in order to recuperate those parts of the psyche which split off and returned to haunt us in projected symbolic form. – David Loy

But what if you're an atheist?

It is better to live as a sinner in a world created by God than to love in a world created by the devil. – W.R.D. Fairbairn

Open Your Heart, Free Your Soul

The little space within the heart is as great as the vast universe. The heavens and the earth are there, and the sun and the moon and the stars. Fire and lightning and winds are there, and all that now is and all that is not. - The Upanishads

Life, Love lie outside the confines of the turmoil in your head

Let go. Why do you cling to pain? There is nothing you can do about the wrongs of yesterday. It is not yours to judge. Why hold on to the very thing which keeps you from hope and love?
-- Leo Buscaglia

Forgiveness: It's what for life

To be able to move on, one has to learn to forgive not only the person (or people) who have done one wrong but also oneself  - Eugenia Tripputi

But what if we have no string? Then sing, or bang your hands like drums

We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. - Charles R. Swindoll

If you crack some eggs, make an omelot

Forgiveness is freeing up and putting to better use the energy once consumed by holding grudges, harboring resentments, and nursing unhealed wounds. It is rediscovering the strengths we always had and relocating our limitless capacity to understand and accept other people and ourselves. – Sidney and Suzanne Simon

How long are you going to carry that anger? It must be heavy

T-Bone Scappagioni was a son of an immigrant. And like most immigrants, he was a human being. Human beings make mistakes. We’re just not perfect. But I’ll tell you what isn’t a mistake: to love someone and to forgive him, no matter what his shortcomings. That’s not a mistake. I loved that man and I forgive him. And I know that for the rest of my life every day there’s going to be a moment where I’m going to miss him. That’s all I’ve got to say. – Coach, Cheers (Coach Buries a Grudge)

Forgiveness is the release of all hope for a better past. – Alexa Young
